15th June 2015
Please see the attached copy of a letter sent to us in preparation for the traffic disruption in Acocks Green from Saturday 20th June 2015. Bus services have already been decreased and this will continue further over the next couple of weeks. I recommend that parents and pupils plan their journey to school and set out earlier than normal. We expect this disruption to increase pupil lateness to school; we will obviously use common sense and not punish students who are late for genuine reasons.
On Monday 22nd June, Tuesday 23rd June and Thursday 24th June, pupils will board buses parked on the road by Burtons and the British Heart Foundation shops. Should pupils require a school bus on these days, they are to assemble in the playground by the Music block at the end of the school day. Members of the Senior Leadership Team or Heads of House will then escort pupils out of a side gate to board the buses.
There will be no school buses on Wednesday 24th June after Sports Day. Obviously there will be no need for any contingency plans on Friday 26th June as school is closed to all pupils to allow for a staff INSET day.
During this disruptive and uncertain period of time, my chief concern is for the safety of all of our pupils. Therefore, I advise that pupils do not hang around the Green before or after school. Pupils should come straight into school and go straight home.
Thanks in advance for your support with this matter.
