St Joseph the Betrothed House

Head of House - Mr D Corrigan

I started working at Archbishop Ilsley in September 2014. I teach P.E  and R.S and my main responsibility in school is Head of St Joseph house. I very much want to ensure every student in our house develops both academically and socially, giving the opportunity to be successful in the future. I also want students in St Joseph to be busy, getting involved in as many extracurricular activities as possible whether it be sport, drama, student ambassadors or going on trips and visits. My team of tutors have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience and I am very confident they can provide the relevant support for all the students in St Joseph. I look forward to a successful year.

Who was ST. Joseph the Betrothed?

Joseph, husband of Mary and stepfather of Jesus is a key figure in the gospels. Joseph is known as a man of faith, as he was obedient to whatever God asked of him without knowing the outcome. When the angel came to Joseph in a dream and told hime the truth about the child Mary was carrying, Joseph immediately and without question or concern for gossip took Mary as his wife.

Joseph is also patron of the universal Church, fathers, carpenters and social justice.
