Mr Clinton – Headteacher

I am immensely proud and privileged to be Headteacher of Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School. I began my role at this great school in January 2023 so I am approaching two years at Ilsley.  I am pleased with the progress and improvements I have overseen over this time.  I am deeply committed in my Catholic mission for all pupils to hone their God-given talents, expose them to a range of extra-curricular opportunities and secure strong outcomes for every child so they can go to fulfil their vocation, whatever that may be.  I am approaching the 20th year of my teaching career.  I have worked in a range of schools in different contexts in Birmingham and Solihull, including serving as Deputy Head at two outstanding schools for a total of five years before I began my stewardship of Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School.

Mr Foley – Deputy Headteacher

It is a privilege to serve in the community that shaped me as a child. Archbishop Ilsley is the fifth school I have served in a career approaching 20 years. My role focuses on the strategic oversight of behaviour and safeguarding as well as pastoral care and personal development. My previous roles have included leading departments, faculties, pastoral teams, safeguarding, sixth form, SEND and quality of education. I have worked as a senior leader in a range of contexts as assistant headteacher and vice principal contributing to outstanding Ofsted and diocesan judgements. I also bring experience of leading within a national behaviour hub that provided support for many schools. I am devoted to my mission in Catholic education to enable our young people to flourish into wise, courageous learners and dignified people with integrity

I have been at Archbishop Ilsley since 2012 and bring 25 years of experience from a range of schools across Birmingham and the Black Country. I believe that education serves as a catalyst for change; it enables young people to exercise change and have agency over their lives. I am committed to the development of learning in our school as well as providing many varied cultural experiences to enrich the lives of the pupils we serve.

I am proud to be a member of staff at Archbishop Ilsley Catholic school and have been since 2005. Pupils deserve to learn, interact and develop in a secure, caring, and enjoyable environment. Tolerance, understanding, discipline, resilience and forgiveness are central to the development of our pupils. Being SENDCO at Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School is a privilege and representing those pupils and families with additional needs is something I take great pride in. As SENDCO, I am responsible for access arrangements, annual reviews, EAL and play a key role in building strong relationships with our local primary schools to ensure Key Stage 2 transition into secondary school as the best it can be.

As Assistant Head Teacher, I am immensely proud to serve the community that also served me as a former pupil. I understand first-hand the values and traditions that make our school unique, and I feel a deep responsibility to ensure the success of each child who walks through our doors. I have been fortunate to carry out a variety of roles throughout my career here including being a member of the mathematics department. Amongst my responsibilities, I monitor the achievement and progress of pupils and report this to parents and carers. It is a privilege to guide our pupils on their journey to achieve the best possible outcomes.
